Of Mentors

Mentors are a funny lot! They seem to take a distorted view of the world. Some of them think that it is always about them. When the students are late or absent, they take it personally. When the students do not have their assignment, they take it as an "attack" to their authority. The students who are present bear the brunt of their ire for those students who are absent. They all think their subjects are major! The way some teachers are acting make students think they were born teachers. Hello? Have you not sat where we, your students, sit today?
In fairness, not all teachers belong to the group students wish will drop dead in front of the class. There are "cool" Ma'ams and Sirs out there. Those mentors who do not give students hard times but give them good grades. Really, students remember kindness more than lectures, no matter how brilliant.
I know, I know, I know. You are being mean for our own good. Your meanness is cleverly excused as looking after our welfare, we get that, really, we do. We appreciate your concern. Now, can we go easy on the meanness and Miss Tapia and Ms Menchin con Cruella Devil act? Please please please?
